John and his crew worked on my chimney a little over a year ago (September 2023).  I am super pleased with them, the workmanship and products!  The crown and cap of my non-functional chimney was in poor shape (understatement).  During my home's 111 year life someone "glued" a slate to the top.  I guess this was better than nothing to keep the water out.... but not much.  The plaster on the 3rd floor, at the ceiling, near the chimney was always damp.  John and I discussed a few cap options and brick sealing.  I think it looks great and the wall is DRY!  Yeah!!!!

John and his crew were professional, knowledgeable, and efficient.  He was recommended to us by a neighbor.  He took out our old wood burning stove, cleaned our chimney, put in a stainless steel liner, and connected it to the new wood burning stove (which he brought).  He also removed another stove we had sitting in the garage.   They cleaned the workspace. They lit a fire to ensure everything was working properly.  They answered all my questions and were patient. If you need your chimney serviced or need a cap, you have to call Brightside. I think they are the best chimney company in the area. About 6 years ago I had a company (that begins with an S and ends with a K) put a pretty large stainless steel cap on one of my mother's chimneys and it was a good experience and the price was OK. However, when I called recently about my mother's other chimney and now mine, they told me that no matter what I needed, there would need to be an inspection and cleaning - PERIOD and it was expensive. They were abrupt and it didnt matter if I was a previous client. Not a problem because it led me John of Brightside. What a wonderful experience! He very inquisitive and knowledgeable, making sure we were on the same page BEFORE he even came out, which saved me alot of time. He made a few recommendations and was straight forward and not pushy about unnecessary services or items and I really appreciated his honesty about the state of my mother's second chimney and his cost effective sensible advice. With a multi-flu chimney, we selected an outside mount stainless steel cap.  Brightside Chimney made certain the measurements were exact with a visit to our home and from initial call to fabrication and installation, the entire process was smooth and expedient. John, his son and Omar removed the disintegrated tiles from our 26 foot chimney and replaced them with a six inch stainless steel insulated liner and cap. They were very respectful of our property inside and out with an emphasis on cleanliness. They worked efficiently and safely as a team and wasted no time in completing the project. Since the warm weather is still with us, the installation has not been tested under working conditions, but John told us that if we had any concerns at all, do not hesitate to contact him.
